Brief for Eyewear materials

In this article, let's learn about the materials of eyewear. What are the common materials of eyewear? The most important aspect when finding an eyewear is quality, it could be as simple as choosing an eyewear material, each distinguished by its own strengths. Eyewear materials essentially come in Acetate, Metal, Buffalo horn, and sometimes a combination of those. In our factory, there are a number of options, each with its own advantages.
1, One of the materials of eyewear: cellulose acetate
The main material of acetate eyewear is cellulose acetate, the materials are essentially plastic. They are otherwise known as a material called zyl, which is one of the most popular types of frame materials in the eyewear industry. The eyewear produced with this material mainly include acetate sunglasses and acetate optical frames.
The manufacturing Methods for cellulose acetate material:
The technique involves forming layers of plastic into a large block of acetate.
Different parts of the eyewear are then cut from this large block of cellulose acetate sheet.
After this careful slicing, individual parts are then hand polished and assembled into a whole frame.
The machine used to slice these large blocks of acetate or zyl, is called a pantographing machine.
Acetate originates from natural cotton fibers and tree pulp, which give the frames a more natural feel. These constituents also make for a very flexible frame. In eyewear manufacturing spheres, acetate frames are said to be included in all colors of the rainbow.
This ease of color variations has also lent the frame material to be an easy-to-make fashion statement, as manufacturers and partnering designers are able to shape, add or subtract different pieces, in order to create different looks.
2, One of the materials of eyewear: Metal
There are many kinds of metals, a good quality metal eyewear can involve up to different good metal materials in order to produce them. Some metals such as titanium are even more complex. A typical metal eyewear can take up more time to manufacture. In general, metal is lightweight, strong, flexible and anti-corrosive, making them ideal for eyeframes production. The eyewear produced with this material mainly include metal sunglasses and metal optical frames.
Stainless Steel: Stainless steel is made from a blend of steel and chromium, making it a very strong metal with an element of flexibility that is easily accessible. While it weights more than titanium, it can be made very thin, thus reducing its weight. It will not corrode and is nickel free, again making it hypoallergenic which is good for those with sensitive skin.
Monel: Monel is an alloy, a mixture of two or more metals. It's highly rust resistant, flexible and stronger than steel.
Titanium: Titanium is grey in colour and the lightest of all the metal frames. When combined with modern day plastic lenses it makes the titanium eyewear for a very comfortable. It is corrosion resistant, hypoallergenic and can be produced in a variety of colour. Titanium is expensive and as a result, it is typically blended with nickel or copper to product a titanium alloy for greater affordability. The eyewear produced with this material mainly include pure titanium eyewear and beta titanium eyeframes.
Flexon is a proprietary titanium-alloy and 'memory material' that enables the wearer to twist, bend and crush the frame without affecting it's shape. About more Titanium eyewear, please click the Titanium eyewear in our website.
3, One of the materials of eyewear: Aluminium
Aluminium is a naturally soft material and is often combined with silicon and iron to make the frame strong and hard. Aluminium frames have a very distinctive look and are often used in the construction of high end eyewear (Aluminium eyewear) as they are lightweight and resistant to corrosion. Aluminum eyewear are a third lighter than titanium eyewear.
4, One of the materials of eyewear: Buffalo horn
We manufacture Buffalo Horn glasses that are designed according to the preferences of our clients. These are made from superior grade raw material to ensure optimum quality in the final product. Buffalo horn eyewear are also available in various colors such as black, Brown, Light White, Beige, Dark and Medium Brown as designs & sizes required.
Natural Buffalo horn glasses is extremely light, very comfortable to wear, pleasing to the touch and suitable for many skin allergy sufferers.
Horn is a lightweight, comfortable and beautiful frame material that is able to command such a high price. While horn from Asian water buffalo is plentiful, few eyewear manufacturers have the skill to transform horn into eyewear. Only the most skilled workers at the best frame produxers have the capability of carving and polishing horn materials in a manner suitable for luxury eyewear.
Just as all horns in nature have differences in color, pattern and striations, ranging from subtle to significant, each pair of natural horn frames is a little bit different than the next.
